  Equine Rescue Horse Camps
Description:
Did you know the average cost to care for one horse annually is over $2,000? Happy Hooves Equine Rescue currently cares for more than 25 abandoned and abused horses. With dental & chiropractic care, good nutrition and lots of love from the Liberty Prairie Farm Youth Club members and volunteers, horses live the life they deserve teaching others how to ride and care for horses properly. We need your support to care for these and many more horses. Know a young horse lover? The horse camps are perfect for kids who are absolutely horse crazy. At Liberty Prairie Farm’s horse camp you’ll spend the majority of your time riding and playing with the horses, all the while learning how to care, feed and groom them. All ages and skills are welcome. You can attend one, two or all three camp sessions: June 11-15, June 25-29 and July 9-13, Monday - Friday from 9AM - 3PM for a cost of $250 per camp session. All proceeds go to Happy Hooves Equine Rescue at Liberty Prairie Farm located at 7026 State Route 140 in Edwardsville, IL.

"Horse Crazy" Camp
Description:
"Horse Crazy" Camp - www.nwnhc.com Ages 5-7 June 25 - 29, 2012 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. This is a half-day camp where youngsters can learn basic safety, care and handling of horses and experience riding in-hand. They also will express their love of the horse through fun art projects. This camp prepares them for the more all-day Beginning Camp. Let your child experience the wonderful spirit of the horse and make a hundred lifetime memories at one of our summer camps. Our day camps are not just about riding. They are comprehensive programs that teach the responsibilities of horse ownership, how to be safe around horses and how to build a partnership with the horse through leadership; not fear and intimidation. Your child will also learn how horses communicate with each other and how they can use that “language” to “speak to” and understand the horse. It all starts with playing seven games and progresses to riding with a centered seat and proper balance. Your child will also express their love of the horse through innovative art projects.
